Lunch
It was still the second day of the trip.
During lunch, iza had her ever first cooking lesson.
A Vietnamese granny was teaching iza how to make spring rolls.
The 3 deep fried dishes below were all made by iza!!!

VIETNAM 5

Marine Museum
On the second day, we have cultural visits.
We love the Marine Museum.
Oringinally, it's the place where vietnamese scientists studied sea animals.
It's very primitive.
But rich in collections.


It was our first time to see a specimen of a sea cow - mermaid.

These 2 days, iza asked a question twice.

It is quite interesting.

"Mama, is that if we do (make) something that is good, very good, it will last forever?"

I was just thinking.

Was she referring to some great figure like Mother Teresa...?

Or, was she thinking of great inventions?

Or, it's about something like friendship?

Or, an appreciation from somebody she loves?

I was not yet responding.

She then put into more details.

"Like God, He created the Sun and the Earth.

He did great.

Therefore these last forever!

If we make something that is as good as these,

will these last forever?"

Oh!

Today, when we walk home,

"Mama, do you know why turtle has such a long life?"

"I don't know."

"It's because God knew that it is not easy for turtles to have babies.

Then he allowed them to have a longer life." iza laughed.

Though I don't know where this idea comes from,

maybe from the summer school visits???

It's a funny view.

VIETNAM 4

It was the second day of our trip.
When we were on the boat,
iza gazed into the sky.
She asked,
"Is how big the sky, how big is God?"
"Yes..."
I was thinking that she was "drowning" into the sky again.
And, this time she associated her favorite "subjects" - sky & God together...
"Why do we thank God?"
"We thank Him for creating such a beautiful World for us and teaching us..."
"How could He teach us? He's not human being."
"Through the Bible..."
"But the Bible was written and drawn by man!"
Then I told her about prophets.
"How did God talk to us after the prophets died?"
I always wonder why I did never ask such questions when I was young!!!
"It's good that we have Jesus!
God send his son Jesus to the Earth.
He came to save and teach us.
He told us that we do something bad. God is sad.
If we believe that He is the son of God and he can save us, we are saved!
Through Jesus, we can directly talk to God through praying.
Do you believe in Jesus?"
"Yes!"
"Do you understand what I'm talking?"
"Yes. But how does God talk to us?"
"We may hear God's voice in our heart..."
"Mama, please buy me books about God!"
It was the second time that she asked for books on Bible.

Still on the boat.
"Mama, what is the 22nd Century? Are you still there?"
"I don't think so."
"Doreamon ( a cartoon character ) comes from the 22nd Century. How can this be?"
I didn't want to stop her by saying it's just cartoon, it's not real.
I rather told her about Eienstein and his time travel "theory".
She was interested!
Apart from traveling of light, we talked about traveling of sound through different substances.
Then we came across atoms, electrons... what made up water, salt......
We could hardly imagine that we were talking to a 5 year old girl on all these...
And, I promise her to read her "A brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking.
But I need to read it first and try my best to understand.
I do not promise that I can explain everything in the book.
Because I don't think I can really understand!!!

She cleaned them carefully with tooth brush.

It was a long travel.
We left home at 7:00am in the morning, we arrived the hotel 12 hours later!
In Hanoi, we waited 4 hours in the Airport for transfering to Cam Ranh.
During waiting, we've got nothing to do.
Only watching people.
Iza suddenly asked,
"Mama you should buy me more books on Bible.
I want to know why there are so many different mankinds and languages!
Are we all come from Adam and Eve?
We should be the same."
During this trip, iza asked twice for buying her books on Bible stories.



The private pier
Six Senses Hideaway on Ninh Van Bay is only accessible by water.
When we arrived the private pier, a little white boat was waiting for us.
Exclusively for us.


The hotel
It is a total hideaway.
A nice back to nature experience.
But to urban dwellers like us,
it takes efforts and time to adapt to having sweats all over faces whenever you eat.
Only bedrooms and spa rooms are air conditioned,
all the other areas are open or semi-open.
And, there are flies on food as in all natural settings.
One interesting thing is that there is no hotel key!
When we slept, we could use bolts in the interior.
When we left, we could only left doors unlocked.
It is not we accustomed to.
We felt insecure.
Back to nature,
being primitive is not a gesture,
it is not adjusting the nature to fit us like in all urban settings.
We should adapt to it.
Got relax,
even in mindset.




The restaurant

The Villa
We lived in the hill top villa.
There are over 120 steps from the bottom of the hill.
Walk is the only mean.
It was the most difficult part for iza.
The last day, iza said,
"You should book the hotel with me next time.
When we come back 2 years later, we live on the beach!"
Iza loved the trip.
And, it seems that she wants to come back but not living on the hill top.

The Outdoor Pool
The villa comprises of 2 huts.
One is living room.
The other is bedroom and bathroom mansion.
Every villa, there is a private swimming pool.


Very nice bathroom setting and facilities.
