Milan

Venice

Yangtze River Three Gorges 長江三峽

Thanks for all your warm thoughts! Time flees. How the 8 years has gone in a blink. I'm dreaming the day ... after another 8 years ...

Till now, I still have no idea how to edit pictures of this compact journey ... in the 2 weeks, we've been to Milan ( for the furniture fair ), Venice and then rushed back to Yangtze River Three Gorges ( for the school study trip ) ...

The Easter holiday is almost over, iza is now struggling to finish her 18 pieces of homework ( nearly finish ) ! Some are easy but some are really time consuming ... she needs to do a research on a Chinese historical figure and she initiates to study Chairman Mao 毛澤東 ... She has selected a rather difficult subject but I think her eyes will be opened ...

Everything will soon be back to routine again, I will get back to you all :)

Welcome back! I LOVE your pictures, so beautiful...Oh Venice, the first trip I ever took together with Antti, feel like million years ago, we were students, took the gondola ride in the evening to save half of the cost and couldn't see much anything all I remembered was the smell of the river :) I am curious to know Iza's thoughts of Chairman Mao. Have a great week!

Dear yanyan and Amelie,

The research process on Chairman Mao was a bit challenging. When I knew that iza wanted to study Chairman Mao, I positively supported her because unlike many of ancient figures, Chairman Mao was very controversial.

She would experience very opposite views on the same event. She needed to learn the fact that she needs to read different materials so as to formulate her own view. (Though she might not be able to establish her own point of view from such a shallow research).

However, we could hardly find materials suitable for an eight year old ... We then started with a movie 建國大業, mapping the complicated relationships of people and events in her mind, then comprehended with other reading materials ...

But i felt anxious when we came across cultural revolution. It made me feel so heavy ... I would love her to understand the history but it's TOO HEAVY TOO DARK for a young child ...

To "dilute" the intensity ... research had also been done on his hobbies, like swimming, dancing, calligraphy ...

Lucky enough, in this research, she only needs to do a verbal presentation, not a written one.
